North Kensington Canal Artwork, Carlton Bridge
Tim Ward of Circling the Square created this artwork to present a positive image of young people, their activities and the North Kensington area in which they live. The artwork themes ranged from the plants, flowers found in Meanwhile Gardens (immediately adjacent to the site of the artwork), the skate park also located in the Gardens showing young people in action, the Notting Hill Carnival which has a strong association with the area, people using the canal and towpath for leisure activities and local landmarks. The artwork was created using painted boards, mosaic and etched stainless steel panels.
